COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Mines Club Women's Volleyball will return to tournament action Saturday, traveling to Colorado Springs for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Tournament as the Orediggers continue their 2026-27 season.

Mines is scheduled to begin play at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, looking to build on its performances through the opening tournaments of the fall. The event will provide another opportunity for the Orediggers to compete against collegiate club programs and continue developing their consistency, communication and chemistry.

Mines opened its season at the Northern Colorado Tournament, where its two squads delivered strong results. Team A captured the tournament championship, winning all four of its matches, while Team B finished fourth after advancing through pool play and competing in the crossover round. The results offered an early demonstration of the depth within the club program.

The Orediggers continued their fall campaign at the Colorado State University Tournament on Oct. 10, where the team recorded two victories in four matches. Mines opened the day with straight-set wins over CSU B and DU B before falling to CU A in two sets and UNC A in a single-set bracket-round matchup. The tournament gave the squad valuable experience against a variety of opponents and highlighted areas to build on moving forward.

Saturday's trip to Colorado Springs will offer Mines another chance to apply those lessons. With multiple matches expected throughout the tournament, the Orediggers will need to maintain their focus and energy while adjusting to different opponents and the demands of tournament play. The team will look to establish a strong start, limit unforced errors and carry momentum from one match into the next.

As the fall schedule continues, Mines will focus on building on its early-season experience while continuing to strengthen its play as a club program. Each tournament provides an opportunity to improve individual execution and team coordination, with the goal of putting together consistent performances throughout the day.

Following the UCCS tournament, Mines is scheduled to compete at the University of Colorado Boulder Tournament on Nov. 7 before hosting its own tournament at the Student Recreation Center in Golden on Nov. 15.

With another tournament ahead, the Orediggers will look to take another step forward in Colorado Springs. Mines will aim to turn the lessons from its first two competitions into a more consistent performance as the fall season progresses.

Mines opens play at 8 a.m. Saturday in Colorado Springs.
