BOULDER, Colo. — Mines Women's Rugby spent Sunday morning testing its depth and building chemistry, taking on the University of Colorado Boulder's B-side in five consecutive 7s scrimmages.

Mines rotated players from its Blue and Silver squads throughout the morning, giving athletes valuable playing time while experimenting with different lineups and combinations. The fast-paced format provided opportunities to sharpen attacking execution, improve defensive organization and strengthen communication across the team.

Lina O'Neil and Piper Lee led the Orediggers' scoring efforts, with O'Neil consistently finding the try zone and Lee contributing tries and successful conversions. Maddy Snodgrass and Paige Kieschnick also made strong offensive contributions, showcasing Mines' ability to generate scoring opportunities across the field. Ka-Chow additionally contributed to the attack, highlighting the team's depth throughout the five scrimmages.

Beyond the scoring, the scrimmages gave developing players a chance to compete alongside more experienced teammates, learn in live-game situations and build confidence. Rotating personnel across five matches also allowed Mines to explore new combinations and identify areas for continued improvement.

The morning in Boulder provided a productive opportunity for the Orediggers to grow together, gaining valuable experience and strengthening the connections that will help carry the team through the remainder of the season.
