COLORADO SPRINGS – After leading the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer team to a sweep of Colorado Christian and MSU Denver over Homecoming weekend, senior striker
Bella Campos has been named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
The honor is the second of the season for Campos and fourth time she's taken home Player of the Week laurels in her career.
Friday night against the Colorado Christian, Campos' 71st minute penalty kick was the difference for the Orediggers in a 1-0 win to open the weekend. Sunday against MSU Denver, she assisted on
Caelan DeBolt's game-winning goal in the 21st minute before scoring twice in a span of 3:19 in the second half in the 49th and 52nd minutes as part of a 6-0 win. Sunday was the fourth multi-goal outing of the season for Campos and fifth match in which she registered both a goal and an assist. With her three goals on the weekend, she's now scored in double figures in each of her four seasons in a Mines uniform. Additionally, Campos became just the second player in program history to surpass 60 goals in a career and took over sole possession of fifth on the all-time assist rankings to become the fifth player to reach 20 assists in a career.
Mines (7-2-2, 3-1-1) hits the road for the opening leg of a two-week road trip with stops at UCCS and Western Colorado Friday and Sunday.
