COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Following a dominant performance at Colorado College, Mines Club Tennis returns to Colorado Springs this weekend for the UCCS Tournament, set for Oct. 9-11, as the Orediggers continue their fall campaign.

Mines enters the tournament with momentum after earning a 14-1 match victory over Colorado College in its most recent competition. The Orediggers won five of six singles matches, swept all six doubles matches and went undefeated in three mixed doubles contests while finishing with an 87-31 advantage in total games.

The Orediggers' depth was on full display throughout the Colorado College scrimmage, with 14 different Mines players recording at least one victory across singles, doubles and mixed doubles. That depth will be valuable as Mines enters a tournament setting and prepares to compete against multiple opponents over the course of the weekend.

The UCCS Tournament will provide Mines with an opportunity to continue developing its lineup and doubles combinations while gaining experience in a more demanding tournament environment. After using its previous scrimmages to test different pairings, the Orediggers will look to carry their recent success into the weekend and continue building chemistry across the roster.

The tournament also represents the next step in a busy October for Mines. Following the UCCS Tournament, the Orediggers will return to Golden for the Mines Oredigger Classic at Rolling Hills on Oct. 17-18, giving the team another opportunity to compete at home later this month.

Coming off its most dominant performance of the fall, Mines enters the weekend looking to maintain its momentum, compete deep into the tournament and continue establishing itself as one of the region's competitive club tennis programs.

The Orediggers will compete at the UCCS Tournament Oct. 9-11 in Colorado Springs.
