The Colorado School of Mines Men's Club Lacrosse opened its 2026 season on Friday night with a 21–4 loss to the United States Air Force Academy Men's Club Lacrosse in its season opener.
Despite the final score, Mines showed steady improvement as the game progressed, settling into its systems and finding more consistency on both ends of the field after a challenging start. The Orediggers continued to compete through all four quarters, using the opener as an early measuring stick against a disciplined Air Force squad.
Friday's contest marked the first live-game action for Mines this spring, with the team gaining valuable experience and identifying areas for growth moving forward. The group responded positively on the sideline and remained engaged throughout the contest, a sign of resilience heading into the heart of the season.
Mines will look to build on the lessons from its opener as the team prepares for a road trip to Arizona next weekend, where the Orediggers aim to take another step forward as the spring schedule continues.
