COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado School of Mines thrower
Jennifer Jarnagin is the RMAC Field Athlete of the Week after a record-setting performance at the Mountain Lion Open on Saturday.
It is Jarnagin's fourth career RMAC Athlete of the Week honor but first indoors after she broke the Mines weight throw record with a 19.82m toss, taking over the RMAC lead with the #6 performance in NCAA Division II this season. Her career-best coming into the meet was 18.99m, but she surpassed 19 meters five times in an impressive series, landing 19.82m on her final attempt.
Jarnagin, a senior, is the defending RMAC champion in the weight throw and now owns eight of the top 10 performances in program history, including five set this season.
The Orediggers return to action Friday competing at the Arkansas Qualifier and the Colorado Last Chance.
