BOULDER, Colo. - Jonah Fallon and Tim Thompson broke RMAC records in the 400m and 800m, respectively, to highlight a fast day on the track at the Colorado Classic.

Both men snapped RMAC and Mines records in the span of less than an hour, starting with Fallon's 46.52-second 400m time that lowered his previous program record of 47.34 and slipped under the RMAC indoor standard of 46.54 that was set in 2024 by Adams State's Jonah Vigil. His time ranks #13 all-time in NCAA Division II history and is #4 this season after conversion.

Thompson's performance had just as many superlatives as he ran the fastest at-elevation 800m in D-II history, 1:48.10, to break Patrick Weaver's decade-old Mines record of 1:48.90. He also set a conference record, besting Emil Meggle's (CSU Pueblo) time of 1:48.60 set last season, while running the #8 all-time D-II performance and the fastest in the nation this season after conversion.

Thompson's was only one of five exceptional 800 times turned in by Orediggers with Liam Currie's collegiate-best 1:51.33, Owen Schneider's 1:52.62, and Ty Krafft's 1:52.64 all NCAA-provisional performances. Imani Fernandez-Gorbea's 2:11.54 chopped another second off her personal-best run on the same track two weeks ago as she improved on her national performance list standing.

There were plenty of other quick performances on Saturday starting in the 200m dash where Violet Williams became the second woman in program history to run sub-25 seconds, clocking a new personal-best 24.98 for the #2 performance ever at Mines. Williams later led out the 4x400 relay along with Aani Hardesty, Elizabeth Prescott, and Fernandez-Gorbea to clock the second-fastest time in Mines history at 3:49.27.

Dominik Davis was one of a number of freshmen making their official Oredigger debuts as he qualified for the 60m hurdles final in 8.19 seconds, immediately making him the #4 all-time Mines performer in the event. Mason Znamenacek clocked 8.36 (#9 all-time) and Elijah Meyer 8.90. Chloe Hawkins clocked 9.55 in the women's race.

Jathan Busby paced Oredigger sprinters in the 60m dash in 6.96 seconds, with Tegan Duaghters running 7.09, Eric Hill Jr. 7.13, and Bode Adeleke 7.35. Daughters later ran a new personal-best 21.89 to lead the men's 200m with Busby timing 22.73, Hill 22.94, and Bode Adeleke 23.66.The men's 4x400 of Currie, Thompson, Meade, and Fallon ran into early traffic to record a 3:15.04 time. Thierry Asare and Logan Meade both clocked 49.30 in the 400m, with Hardesty leading the Mines women in 58.32 ahead of Elizabeth Prescott (59.03) and Evans (59.61).

Chris Pietrak led a large group of Oredigger milers with his 4:19.07 time, joined in the race by Jack Sheehan (4:19.96), Connor Graves (4:20.34), Cole Fiorillo (4:22.97), Kai Wagner (4:25.12), James Beam (4:25.45), Skyler Gillham (4:27.29), Calder Denham (4:29.25), Julien Frazier (4:29.97), Julian Ryter (4:33.27), Quinton Rodriguez (4:33.84), and Jackson Rogers (4:37.43). The women also had a large mile squad topped by Sasha Kelly's 5:15.01 along with Jemma Petrie (5:23.49), Ella Kenly (5:29.35), Lilly Lukens (5:30.20), Olivia Tallent (5:32.07), and Brooke Bundt (5:48.38).

The Orediggers head to Colorado Springs next weekend to compete in the Mountain Lion Open at UCCS.
