Jacob’s First Team Selection Leads RMAC Academic Honorees

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 academic honors Monday as five members of the Colorado School of Mines men's basketball team were recognized for their academic accomplishments. Braydon Jacob was named First Team Academic All-RMAC while Will Cordonnier, Dom Girish, Matija Jordovic and Silas McCurnin were named to the league's Academic Honor Roll.
 
Jacob caps off his debut season by earning First Team All-Academic honors with a team-best 3.89 GPA in Mechanical Engineering. The second-year freshman out of Castle Rock appeared in all 32 games with three starts this season and averaged 17.3 minutes, 4.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. He dished out 46 assists which was good for sixth on the team while shooting .336/.322/.800 and was fourth on the team with 29 three-pointers. Six times Jacob scored in double figures on the season with his best performance coming against #RV MSU Billings on December 20 when he scored 11 points on 4-5 shooting and was a perfect 3-3 from long range. He also scored in 13 of 15 games to end the season, during which time he shot .370 from the floor.
 
Cordonnier also earns the first academic honors of his career from the RMAC and owns a 3.37 GPA in Mechanical Engineering. The Ohio native appeared in 31 of 32 games in his debut season and averaged 13.1 minutes, 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting .352/.307/.700. He recorded 36 assists, 19 steals and was fourth on the team with 11 blocked shots and scored in double figures on five occasions. Cordonnier scored a season-high 17 points on two occasions, first on February 5 in an 84-67 win over Western Colorado on 6-13 shooting before doing so again on February 24 in a 99-72 win over Regis on 6-10 shooting that included a 3-5 night from downtown. Cordonnier's season also featured a 12-game scoring streak from January 10-February 19.
 
Girish missed the 2025-26 season due to injury and did not see game action. Now a three-time RMAC Academic Honor Roll recipient in his career, Girish holds a 3.49 GPA in Mechanical Engineering. In his career, he has appeared in 31 games and shot .615 from the floor and .800 from three in limited action.
 
Jordovic sports a 3.36 GPA in Mechanical Engineering and rounds out a trio of first-time academic honorees for the Orediggers this season. Jordovic saw action 14 times as a reserve in his debut season for 61 minutes. He shot .714 from the free throw line on his way to 15 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals. He scored a season-high eight points on 2-3 shooting and 2-3 from the line with two rebounds and an assist in a 105-72 win at Colorado College on November 25.
 
McCurnin is now a two-time Academic Honor Roll recipient in his career as he carries a 3.79 GPA in Civil Engineering. McCurnin appeared in 18 games as a reserve this season for 97 minutes and shot .400 from the floor and 1.000 from the free throw line. He scored 23 points with five assists, five rebounds and five steals while also stringing together a five-game scoring streak from January 22-February 14. He scored a season-high five points with two rebounds and an assist in 15 minutes in a 99-72 win over Regis on February 24.
