The Colorado School of Mines Women's Rugby Blue Side kicked off their 7s season on March 1st at the Air Force 7s Tournament, gaining valuable experience and showing steady improvement throughout the day.

Mines opened the tournament against the University of Northern Colorado. Despite a strong effort, the Orediggers fell 0–27 in the first match of the day as they worked to find their rhythm early in the tournament.

In their second game against Colorado College, Mines battled hard but ultimately came up short in a 5–20 loss. The highlight of the match came when rookie Vivi Cranwill scored her very first try for the team, marking an exciting milestone and putting Mines on the board.

The Blue Side found their stride in their third match against Wyoming 2, earning a hard fought 15–15 draw. Madeline Hood opened the scoring for the Orediggers, and Vivi Cranwill continued her strong performance by adding two more tries later in the match to secure the tie.

Mines closed the day against a mixed Air Force and University of Colorado 3 side. The team fought through the final match but fell 5–27. Nevaeh Olinger scored the lone try for the Orediggers in the contest.

While the results may not fully reflect the team's progress, the tournament marked an important first step in the Blue Side's 7s season. The squad showed clear growth throughout the day, building confidence, connecting on strong plays, and gaining valuable game experience that will help them continue to improve as the season moves forward.
