2025-26 All-RMAC Women's Basketball Teams
COLORADO SPRINGS – Sofia Baldessari,
Jenna Shandy, and
Emma Sixta gave the Colorado School of Mines women's basketball team a trio of Orediggers on the all-conference squads announced Thursday by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference office.
Baldessari led the trio with First-Team All-RMAC distinction. Shandy claimed Second-Team All-RMAC honors. Sixta appeared as Honorable Mention All-RMAC. A total of 21 players appeared on the first and second teams with 14 more on the honorable mention list. The teams and superlative awards were voted on by all 15 head coaches in the league. Coaches could not vote for their own players. Colorado Mesa's Olivia Reed Thyne won RMAC Player of the Year. Elaina Watson from Adams State was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. South Dakota Mines' Addison Miranda claimed RMAC Freshman of the Year. Colorado Mesa rounded out the awards with Taylor Wagner winning RMAC Coach of the Year after leading CMU to the RMAC's regular season title.
The First-Team All-RMAC nod for Baldessari comes in her first year wearing a Mines uniform. She played her freshman season at College of Saint Benedict (DIII) in Minnesota. Baldessari's sophomore campaign included 545 points, 220 rebounds, 37 steals, 34 assists, and eight blocks across 26 games and 23 starts. Her averages came out to 21.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 assists per game. The Englewood, Colo., native ranked #2 in the RMAC in scoring average, #3 in rebounding average, #1 in free-throw percentage, #6 in three-pointers per game, #7 in three-point percentage, and #9 in overall field-goal percentage among qualifying players. She broke Mines' single-game scoring record with 45 points against Nelson on Jan. 2 and totaled six games of at least 30 points, more than any player in program history. Additionally, Baldessari wrote her name in the program record book multiple times including at #4 for single-season scoring, #5 for single-season made field goals, #5 in single-season made free throws, #5 in single-season free-throw percentage, and tied for #13 in single-season made three-pointers. No other player in Oredigger women's history has scored more points in their first season with Mines. Nationally, Baldessari ranked #8 in points per game, #20 in total points, and #26 in free-throw percentage. She was also named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week twice during the year.
Shandy's Second-Team All-RMAC nod helps her close her college career as a three-time all-conference player after earning Honorable Mention All-RMAC in 2024 and First-Team All-RMAC in 2025. For the season, Shandy posted 372 points, 111 rebounds, 99 assists, 37 steals, and four blocks. Her game averages came out to 12.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. That production put her career numbers at 1,370 points, 399 rebounds, 260 assists, 123 steals, and 19 blocks with 500 made field goals and 197 made three-pointers. She was top-25 in the RMAC in scoring, top-10 in three-point shooting, and top-five in assist-to-turnover ratio while ranking #7 in assists per game during the 2025-26 season. The Parker, Colo., native and Valor Christian High School graduate finished her Oredigger career ranked #6 all-time scoring, #9 all-time in assists, #6 in all-time made field goals, and #4 in made three-pointers in a career. Shandy had also previously held Mines' single-game scoring record at 40 points until she handed Baldessari six assists in the sophomore's record-breaking performance. Other career accolades for Shandy included the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, two appearances on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll, two CSC Academic All-District nods, an RMAC First-Team All-Academic award, and one RMAC Offensive Player of the Week accolade.
Honorable Mention All-RMAC for Sixta represented the first all-conference award of her career. It followed a junior campaign featuring 275 points, 88 rebounds, 77 assists, 31 steals, and six blocks while going 102-of-204 from the floor and shooting 40 percent from three-point range. Sixta's game averages came out to 9.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. She also rose into a tie for #13 in all-time made three-pointers at Mines. The Portland, Ore., native ranked top-25 in the RMAC in three-point shooting for the season and was #14 in assists per game. With one collegiate season to play, Sixta needs just 275 points to surpass 1,000 points for her career.
Baldessari, Shandy, Sixta, and the Orediggers saw their 2025-26 come to a close on Tuesday in the first round of the 2026 RMAC Women's Basketball tournament. All additional postseason awards including all-region, all-academic, and more, will be announced at www.minesathletics.com.
