At the University of Georgia's Spec Towns Invitational, Fernandez-Gorbea ran a new Colorado School of Mines record of 2:06.51 to place second in the Invitational 800m, moving to #4 on the NCAA performance list this season. Already the holder of Mines' indoor 800m record, Fernandez-Gorbea bested Aryelle Wright's outdoor mark of 2:07.08 set in 2024.
