The Colorado School of Mines Ski Team traveled to Whiteface Mountain in New York for Nationals, taking on a challenging week of competition across multiple events and tough conditions.

The week kicked off with Skier Cross, where Schuyler Clapp delivered a standout performance, placing 2nd in an exciting finish. Clapp made a decisive pass on the final turn of the last heat to secure the podium spot in an unscored but highly competitive race.

In the Giant Slalom on Draper's Drop, the team faced a demanding course and finished 18th out of 25 schools. Clayton Surber led the way with a 52nd place finish, followed closely by Parker Anderson in 55th. Despite strong efforts, several racers were unable to finish their runs, highlighting the technical difficulty of the event.

The Slalom event saw improvement from the team, climbing to 14th overall. Schuyler Clapp again paced Mines with a 48th place finish, while Clayton Surber and Kingsley Alsop followed in 51st and 67th, respectively, showcasing steady progress on a challenging slope.

The competition concluded with Dual Panel Slalom, where Mines faced Lehigh University in the opening round. Despite a competitive showing, the team was eliminated early in the bracket.

Throughout the week, athletes battled through rain and icy conditions while competing against top programs from across the country. Despite the elements, the team embraced the experience and represented Mines with determination and energy on the national stage.
