AZUSA, Calif. - Grace Strongman ran a new Colorado School of Mines 5,000m record to led a Friday night of strong performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 18.
Strongman timed a national-leading 15:47.89, shaving a second off teammate
Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge's record of 15:48.74 set at the same meet last year, to lead D-II runners at the meet. It represents a 19-second collegiate PR for the senior, who was an indoor all-American at the distance.
Emily LaMena also ran a personal outdoor with her 15:57.89 time, vaulting her to #3 on the Mines all-time list. In the morning heats,
Josie Mejia clocked a personal-best 17:23.58.
Brock Drengenberg improved his season- and personal-best 800m time with a 1:48.26, moving him to #2 on the Mines all-time list only 11 hundreths of a second off teammate

Daniel Appleford highlighted the men's 5,000m performances in the evening with a terrific 13:50.43 effort, his career best, which moves him to #7 on the Mines all-time list and puts him solidly in contention for a nationals spot.
Ethan Grolnic ran 14:20.61.
Drengenberg will finish the meet Saturday evening with the 1,500m, set to go off at 8:46 p.m. Pacific.
