OREDIGGERS START POSTSEASON WITH RMAC OUTDOORS
It's nearly the end of April, which means it's time for the RMAC Outdoor Championships, which begin Friday and run through Sunday at CSU Pueblo's Thunderbowl. It's a familiar spot for the Orediggers, who have already competed twice at the venue this season and at last year's NCAA Division II Championships there.Â
LIVE COVERAGE
The RMAC Championships will
stream live on the RMAC Network (pay-per-view), and
live results are available from Rapid Results Timing. The
meet schedule and tickets are available on rmacsports.org.
LEADING THE WAY
Mines holds an impressive 17 top seeds for this weekend's meet, well-distributed across the board. Hurdles will be a strength with
Elijah Quinby and
Aani Hardesty the fastest in the RMAC this year in the men's and women's 400m hurdles, respectively, while
Alejandro Philippart and
Dominik Davis are seeded 1-2 in the 110m hurdles.
Jonah Fallon heads into the meet as the top seed in both the 200m and 400m, and
Tim Thompson and
Brock Drengenberg are the top two men's 800m runners while
Imani Fernandez-Gorbea tops the women's list.
Max Bonenberger (3,000m steeplechase),
Sierra Wall (3,000m steeplechase),
Dawson Gunn (5,000m), and
Braden Struhs (10,000m) lead a strong Mines distance contingent, and both men's and women's 4x400 relays are top seeds. In the field, defending champion
Jennifer Jarnagin tops the hammer throw,

Aidan Bennett and
Taylor Hindman the pole vault.
MINES AT THE RMAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Oredigger men have won the RMAC outdoor title three times and the women once in the history of the meet, with the men's most recent titles coming in 2018 and 2019 (along with runner-up finishes in 2022 and 2025), and the women winning in 2024 with a second-place a year ago.Â
WALL, WILLIAMS EARN RMAC HONORS
Freshmen
Sierra Wall and
Violet Williams were named the RMAC Women's Athletes of the Week on Thursday, with Wall earning track and Williams field honors. In her first time competing in the steeplechase, Wall ran a national-leading 10:08.83 at the Bryan Clay Invitational to break the Mines program record. Her time, which leads the RMAC by six seconds, made her the #20 all-time performer in D-II history in the event. Williams broke the Mines program long jump record, leaping 6.15m at the Mines Midweek Invite. Williams' mark ranks #9 in NCAA Division II this season and leads the RMAC by 13cm. She already owns the Mines indoor long jump record, as well.
IN THE RANKINGS
Mines' women hit their highest-ever team ranking - indoors or out - this week, jumping up three spots to match the men at #4 in this week's USTFCCCA rankings. Mines was very well-represented in the EventSquad rankings as the men's 800m and 10,000m squads rank #2, the 5K group is #3, steeplechase #4, and 400m and 110m hurdles #5, while on the women's side, the steeplechase ranks #3 and 5K #4.
ON THE NATIONAL LIST

Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge in the 10K,
Sierra Wall in the steeplechase,
Grace Strongman in the 5,000m, and
Dawson Gunn in the 5K - and hold 16 top-10 NCAA D-II slots overall heading into the conference championship season. The Orediggers have three weeks of qualifying left between RMACs and last-chance meets before the nationals field is locked in.
LOOKING AHEAD
