Valorant JV Captures First Trophy in Program History Behind Teamwide Effort and Finals MVP Performance
Colorado School of Mines Club Esports Valorant JV made history this weekend, capturing the PCL Ranked Division 4 Championship and bringing home the program's first Valorant trophy with a dominant two-map sweep in the finals.
Built from a roster assembled late out of tryouts, the Orediggers' championship run was a testament to chemistry, resilience, and growth. The championship lineup of Jadon Beacham, Dustin Dole, Tristen Erpelding, Benny Huang, Brenden Murphy, Glenn Pocasangre-Cooper, and Hutton Bonewitz came together at the right time, peaking on the biggest stage of the season.
Mines opened the championship series with a tightly contested 13-11 victory on Lotus, battling through a back-and-forth opener to take control of the match. 🎥 Watch the Lotus map VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2755463141
The Orediggers then closed out the title in emphatic fashion on Bind, securing a 13-6 win and the Division 4 crown. 🎥 Watch the Bind map VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2755510300

Leading the way was Brenden Murphy, who delivered a championship-clinching performance worthy of Finals MVP honors, posting 40 kills across the series. The standout showing made the moment even more special as the title comes in Murphy's final semester as Club President.
For Valorant JV, the championship marks the team's second Valorant title overall and their first official trophy — a milestone achievement for a group that began the season with little certainty and finished it as champions.
The victory caps a remarkable underdog run for the Orediggers and adds another championship chapter to Mines Club Esports, with Valorant JV now able to call themselves PCL Ranked Division 4 Champions.
