STANFORD, Calif.
- Three Orediggers got last-chance qualifying started as they competed at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford University on Friday.

Garrett Mackey improved his national standing in the steeplechase with a big collegiate best, becoming the sixth sub-9:00 man in Mines history with his 8:58.75 time. That represents a 13-second improvement on his time run two weeks ago at the Bryan Clay and moves him up to #15 on the NCAA Division II performance list, one of three Orediggers now in the top 20 along with Max Bonenberger and Charlie Welch. In the women's invitational steeplechase, Margaux Basart finished the 3,000m in 10:42.87 for 11th.

Ethan Grolnic put himself onto the bubble for NCAA qualification in the 5,000m, running 14:05.53 the close the evening. Grolnic's performance slots him in at #22 on the national list for the time being.
