5/4/2026 11:24:00 AM

The Colorado School of Mines B Team put together a strong and resilient showing at the UCCS tournament from April 24–26, finishing with a 4-2 record and capturing the bronze bracket title after navigating a competitive pool.

Mines opened play on April 24 with an 11:00 AM matchup against the University of Texas El Paso, falling 17-28 in a challenging start to the tournament. The team quickly rebounded in their second match of the day, earning a 30-0 win by forfeit over the University of Illinois.

On April 25, Mines faced a tough opponent in the University of Pennsylvania and came up short 14-30 in the morning contest. The B Team responded later that day with a dominant 30-14 victory over the University of Colorado Colorado Springs C Team, showing strong consistency across the lineup. They carried that momentum into the evening, securing a solid 24-18 win against Colorado State University's C Team.

Closing out the weekend on April 26, Mines recorded another forfeit victory, this time against the University of Kansas (30-0), helping solidify their position atop the bronze bracket.

Despite a difficult pool, the B Team's ability to bounce back and string together key wins led to a first-place finish in the bronze bracket (third of four overall brackets). Colorado School of Mines sent two teams to compete at the UCCS tournament, while also fielding a team at the University of Denver, marking a busy and productive weekend for the program.
