EUGENE, Ore.
- Colorado School of Mines' Sierra Wall captured the USATF U20 3,000m steeplechase championship on Thursday, claiming the United States title in a dominating effort at Oregon's Hayward Field.

With the victory, Wall earns a berth to the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships to be held Aug. 5-9 back at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Fresh off a sensational freshman season for the Orediggers, the Boulder native ran a lifetime-best 10:08.30 to win the United States U20 title, punching her ticket to Worlds as one of the top two finishers in the race. Wall controlled the pace from start to finish, pulling away with three laps to go to finish in a lifetime-best 10:08.30. Wall closed with a hard kick in 1:14. The NCAA Division II silver medalist beat out Oklahoma State's Arabella Nelson by 15 seconds, with fellow D-II runner Ava Sparks of Lee in third with all three finishing under the World U20 standard.

Wall was a three-season all-American in 2025-26, finishing 20th at the NCAA cross country championship, seventh indoors in the 5,000m, and second outdoors in the steeplechase behind teammate Emily LaMena, while winning the RMAC steeplechase title and RMAC Freshman of the Year honors along the way.
