GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines Director of Athletics David Hansburg announced Pat Jolley as the Orediggers' new baseball head coach Friday.
 
"I am very excited to add Coach Jolley to our coaching staff," Hansburg said. "We have been able to watch Pat coach firsthand during his time at Regis, and what he has done during his time there is very impressive. I am glad he will be in our dugout leading the Orediggers this coming season."
 
Jolley takes the reins after successfully leading Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe Regis for the past three seasons (2024, 2025, 2026). He takes over an Oredigger program that made a Cinderella run to the conference tournament championship game as the #5 seed in the bracket this past spring. Overall, Mines is fresh off a record-breaking season which included the highest team batting average, most hits, most runs, and most RBI in program history.

During his time as the head coach at Regis, Jolley guided the Rangers to an overall record of 86-72-2 while going 54-39-1 in RMAC play. He led RU to three consecutive conference tournament appearances (2024, 2025, 2026) including a pair of #2 seeds in 2024 and 2025. Jolley also coached Regis baseball to the NCAA tournament in 2024, helping the Rangers earn the #4 seed in the South Central Region after going 32-24-1 (20-12 RMAC). The 2025 squad at RU broke the program records for single-season wins and winning percentage thanks to a record of 35-16 (.686). After winning 19 more games in 2026 (19-21-1, 10-21-1 RMAC), Jolley departs Regis with the highest winning percentage of any head coach in program history. Individually, he coached 2025 National Player of the Year and consensus first-team all-American Adam Paniagua along with one other all-American, nine all-region performers, 13 All-RMAC players, and a trio of RMAC gold glove winners with one MLB draft pick too. Jolley's 2024 and 2025 teams won the RMAC Brechler Award for highest team GPA in the conference as well.
 
Prior to taking over Regis' program, Jolley served as RU's assistant coach during the 2023 season, a stint which included four All-RMAC players, one conference gold glove, one all-region performer, and one first-team all-American.  Jolley's other coaching stops include NCAA Division I Northern Colorado (2019-22), NCAA Division III Centenary (2011-19), and NJCAA Division I Bossier Parish Community College (2004-10). He was the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator and both UNC and Centenary where he helped develop a total of 63 all-conference players, six all-Americans, two conference pitchers of the year, two conference players of the year, one regional pitcher of the year, and three freshmen of the year. His time at Centenary also included conference titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2018 with a NCAA tournament appearance in 2017. At the junior college ranks, Jolley helped recruit and coach three all-Americans, six all-region performers, 25 all-conference players, one defensive player of the year, and 10 MLB draft picks. From 2009-10, Jolley was also an Associate MLB Amateur Scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
 
Jolley earned his associate's degree from Lassen Community College in California in 2002. He completed his bachelor's degree in social studies education at LSU-Shreveport in Louisiana in 2005.
