GOLDEN, Colo. - Outdoor Track Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Emily LaMena leads 33 Colorado School of Mines honorees on the USTFCCCA All-Academic squads announced this week.
In addition, both of the Oredigger track & field teams were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, with the men carrying a 3.49 GPA and the women a 3.40.
LaMena, the NCAA Division II champion in the steeplechase, was named D-II's top women's scholar-athlete on the track after her superlative season that also saw her earn runner-up status outdoors and third place indoors in the 5,000m. Earlier this summer, LaMena was named the USTFCCCA's National Track Athlete of the Year for the outdoor season.

The USTFCCCA awards all-academic status to student-athletes with a 3.25 or higher GPA who are among the national top 50 performers in their event, or are a member of the top 35 relays. All-Academic Teams have 3.0 or higher combined GPAs among their NCAA Championships qualifiers.
