The Men's Club Soccer team traveled to Grand Junction to take on Colorado Mesa University in their second game of the season, earning a 2-0 victory. Graham Shoaps and Calvin Stewart each scored, while Ethan Kerstiens recorded his second straight clean sheet.
Mines controlled the game early, creating multiple scoring chances before Mario Castro threaded a ball through to Shoaps, who touched it past the keeper and into the net. Mesa gained momentum late in the first half and created a few chances, but Kerstiens came up with key saves to keep the shutout intact.
After a third lightning delay, Mines took control in the second half, adding a second goal and maintaining possession to close out the 2-0 win.
