The Mines Cycling team is back in action this weekend, heading to Boulder for a two-day collegiate mountain biking competition at Valmont on Sept. 5-6.

After opening the season last weekend at the CMU Mountain Rumble at Powderhorn, the Orediggers will look to build on their early-season racing experience as they take on another weekend of competition. The event is hosted by the University of Colorado Boulder and will bring collegiate cyclists together for another opportunity to test themselves across the varied disciplines of mountain bike racing.

For Mines, the weekend will be another chance for riders to put their preparation to work and continue building momentum early in the season. With the team competing across multiple events, riders will look to challenge themselves individually while contributing to the Orediggers' overall showing throughout the weekend.

Valmont's familiar Front Range setting will provide a different challenge from last weekend's racing at Powderhorn, requiring the Mines riders to adapt to the course and conditions as the weekend unfolds.

The competition also marks the second stop on the 2026 Mines Cycling Mountain schedule. Following Boulder, the Orediggers will return to the area for the Mines Oredigger Challenge on Sept. 12-13 in Black Hawk.

With another weekend of racing ahead, Mines Cycling will look to carry its early-season momentum into Valmont and continue developing as a team throughout the fall campaign.
