On Saturday, the Men's Club Soccer team took on CU Boulder Gold, the No. 4 team in the Central Region and No. 9 team in the nation.

Mines came out strong, applying pressure early and forcing Boulder onto the back foot. The pressure paid off when Mines drew a penalty, which let Ethan Huet score to give Mines a 1-0 lead.

The rest of the first half was back and forth, with Mines creating several chances while limiting Boulder's attacks. Mines continued to control the game in the second half and doubled its lead on a counterattack. Lucas Kolp was played in behind the Boulder defense and curled his shot around the keeper to make it 2-0.

Boulder responded with a header off a corner kick to cut the lead to 2-1, but Mines' defense held strong over the final 30 minutes to keep Boulder off the scoreboard.

Mines held on for the 2-1 victory, earning a win over one of the top-ranked teams in the country.
