TOPEKA, Kan. - Colorado School of Mines and Washburn have shifted the kickoff time of their football game on Sept. 5 to 9 a.m. Central due to the forecast for extreme heat across the area.
The game was originally scheduled for a noon Central start time, but wet bulb temperatures are forecast to meet or exceed the MIAA's safety standards during the afternoon, with an air temperature high of 100 degrees.
Mines Athletics thanks Washburn for its flexibility and consideration for the safety of all participants.
