2017: Captain … NFFCC Defensive Player of the Year … First-Team All-NFFCC … Cliff Harris Award finalist … First-Team All-RMAC … RMAC Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 30) … Earned the team’s Defensive Player of the Year and Tom Mead Spirit Award … Led Mines in total tackles (72), solo tackles (37), tackles for loss (8.5), and fumbles recovered (2) … Had 3.5 sacks and three pass breakups … Led Mines with six total turnovers created (3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble) as well as a kick block … Top production game was a 15-tackle, one-interception effort at Azusa Pacific … Returned a fumble recovery 13 yards for a touchdown against Fort Lewis.

2016: Honorable Mention All-RMAC … Started 12 games at linebacker … Compiled 44 tackles, 5.5 for a loss, and two sacks … Also had three interceptions, including one returned 26 yards for a touchdown against CSU-Pueblo … Had two picks in that game, along with one against Chadron State … Also had three pass break-ups … Top production game was a nine-tackle effort against South Dakota Mines … Had sacks against CSU-Pueblo and Colorado Mesa.

2015: Appeared in all 11 games at linebacker … Made 20 total tackles, nine solo … Intercepted a pass at Black Hills State … Made a career-best seven tackles at Adams State … Also had a six-tackle game against New Mexico Highlands.

2014: Played in 11 games … Had four tackles (two solo).

2013: Redshirted as a freshman.

High School: Wenger earned two letters in football and four in basketball as a prep at Queen Creek High School in Queen Creek, Ariz. … Named Honorable Mention All-State… Named All-Conference… Named a Team Captain… Named tam Outstanding Back… Earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in basketball as a sophomore… Led team to an undefeated season and a State Championship as a senior… Four-year member of the Principal’s Honor Roll… Member of the National Honor Society.
