Mines ORC Rental Center

Get all the gear you need for your next outdoor adventure! Our rental prices are up to approx. 50% lower than other local public rental shops. The Rental Center is available to all active Mines students, faculty/staff members, etc.

The Rental Center is open anytime the ORC is open:
Monday & Friday: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Tuesday & Thursday: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Closed Wednesday, Saturday, & Sunday
 

How to Rent Gear

  • To make a reservation, visit us in-person or call 303-273-3184 (if the item does not require sizing)
  • A valid Blastercard and credit/debit card is required to rent and reserve gear
  • Weekend reservations, except skiing/snowboarding gear, can be made starting on the Wednesday before
  • Weekend skiing/snowboarding reservations can be made starting on the Tuesday before
  • Weekend reservations can be picked up on the Friday before during open hours
  • Rentals are paid for at pick-up

How do I rent gear from the ORC?
Show up during open hours with your current, valid Mines Blastercard and a debit/credit card.

How do I make a reservation?
Guarantee that you'll have gear! Reservations for weekend can be made starting on the Tuesday (ski/snowboard gear) or Wednesday (all other gear) of the same week. To make a reservation, come in-person to the ORC. If the item you need doesn't require sizing, you can also call 303-273-3184 instead. 

Do you rent climbing gear?
We rent some climbing gear, including indoor and outdoor climbing shoes, helmets, and crash pads. We do not rent ropes, harnesses, draws, or trad gear.
If you are looking for gear to climb the SRC rock wall, the SRC front desk rents shoes, harnesses, and belays - which are required to be returned same-day before you leave the SRC.

What items can I rent?
We have a large range of items available for all season, including but not limited to: skiing/snowboarding, camping, biking, backpacking, tubing, kayaking, and many other outdoor sports.

What is the discount for campus groups?
Rentals for on-campus clubs, organizations, and departments can receive a 15% discount. Purchases are tax-exempt when made with a campus One Card. We are also able to provide an itemized receipt if necessary for expense reporting.
