Biography

2015: A multifaceted talent that was one of the team’s top arms and position players… named Third-Team NCBWA All-American and First-Team All-Region… also garnered Daktronics and ABCA All-Region honors… earned Capital One First-Team Academic All-American and was a First-Team All-RMAC honoree… at the plate, Olinger hit .387 (second on the team) with a team-high 19 doubles and three triples to go along with five homeruns and 36 RBIs… posted a team-high .625 slugging percentage… had .432 on base percentage and a .945 fielding percentage while splitting time between the outfield and first base… had 21 multi-hit outings in 42 appearances… also had seven multi-RBI games… on the mound he had a team-best 3.71 ERA in 63 innings over 10 appearances and starts… posted a 5-5 record and threw five complete games… struck out 54 batters on the season… struck out at least five batters in six appearances including a season-high 11 at Colorado Mesa (5/1)… also sat down nine in a 8-0 victory at CCU (4/24).

2014: A NCBWA and ABCA All-Region selection and RMAC Academic Player of the Year… the two-way player was named First-Team All-RMAC while he led the team with a .364 batting average and a 3.60 ERA (among starters)… at the plate, Olinger also led Mines with 68 hits, 17 doubles and three triples… he drove in the second-most RBIs (38) on the team… his .503 slugging percentage was also tops… posted 23 multi-hit games in 47 starts… had eight multi-RBI performances including a five-RBI day in a win over CSU-Pueblo (4/11)… hit his lone homerun in an 11-2 victory over CCU (3/8)… on the mound, he 10 starts in 13 appearances with four complete games while pitching in 65 innings… struck out 41 batters and only tallied 14 walks… struck out a career-high 10 batters in 5.1 innings against CSU-Pueblo (4/11)… also named Third-Team Academic All-American by Capital One.
