Background: From Wellington, Colorado, Aliya started playing rugby during her freshman year at the Colorado School of Mines, where she majors in Business Engineering and Management Science. Aliya currently serves as on the Club Women's Rugby Officer Board as the President. In the 15s season, Aliya primarily plays as a fly half, though has previously played as a flanker. During 7s season, she plays as a fly half or in the hooker position. Aliya was a part of the following teams:

2022 | 15s: Started playing rugby at the Colorado School of Mines as the strong side flanker (#7), where the team went to the National Championships for CRAA DII Club Women's Rugby. The Orediggers placed 3
rd in the nation after falling short to a strong Coast Guard Academy team.
2023 | 7s: Played first season of 7s rugby at the Colorado School of Mines as the hooker (#7). Mines switched to the National Collegiate Rugby Organization at the beginning of 2023. During this season, the Orediggers traveled to the National Championship match against Roger Williams, where they would fall short, ending the 7s season as National Champion Runner Ups.
2023 | 15s: Played on the U23 Rocky Mountain Peaks All Stars 15s team during the summer of 2023 as a flanker. Followed up by a strong sophomore season in the fall at Mines, where they made a Regionals appearance.
2024 | 7s: Started playing the beginning of the season as the hooker. Suffered a torn ACL and meniscus at Missouri S&T during a tournament causing a season-ending injury. Served as an assistant during the rest of the season, where Mines made a 7s appearance at the National Collegiate Rugby 7s Nationals Tournament.
2024 | 15s: After a season-ending injury the spring of 2024, Aliya spent the majority of the 15s season still rehabbing. Was serving as an assistants coach during the majority of the season through Mines' Regionals win in Kansas City. Was cleared to play in early November and played as the blind-side flanker (#6) in the National Collegiate Rugby DIII National Championship games. Mines fell short in the championship match to Endicott, ending their 2024 15s season as the DIII Club Women's Rugby Runners Up.
