Alisha Williams has been an assistant coach for Mines cross country since the summer of 2016.
Williams, a graduate of Western State, has ran professionally since 2006 with adidas Rocky Mountain Elite and adidas Boulder Running Club. She has competed twice at the U.S. Olympic Trials, where she finished 10th in the 5,000m and 14th in the 10,000m events in 2016 and fifth in the 10K in 2012. She represented the United States at the 2015 Pan-American Games in Toronto.Â
Williams owns top times of 4:35 in the mile, 15:09 in the 5K, and 31:49 in the 10K. Also an accomplished marathoner, she has run a 2:34 full and 1:10 half race, including a win in the 2012 Cal International Marathon.Â
One of the RMAC's most decorated runners, she is a member of the Hall of Fame at Western State, where she led the Mountaineers to cross country national titles in 2001 and 2002 and won six individual national titles on the track, two each in the indoor mile, outdoor 1,500m, and outdoor 3,000m. She ran at Western at the same time as Mines head coach Chris Siemers, who himself was a three-time all-American in Gunnison.Â
