Caleb Ulrich joined the Mines cross country staff as an assistant coach in 2017.

He served on the 2019, 2022, and 2024 cross country staffs that saw the Oredigger men win their second, third, and fourth NCAA Division II National Championships. Ulrich was also on staff for the women's first four podium appearances in program history including three third-place finishes at the national championships. During his tenure with the cross country team, Ulrich has been a part of seven RMAC titles (2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), six NCAA South Central Regional crowns (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), three national championships and assisted with the development of 49 USTFCCCA All-America performances.

A former RMAC runner at Colorado Christian, Ulrich spent two years in Lakewood as CCU's assistant coach, helping spur a rapid improvement in the program that saw the Courgars' distance group set three cross country and 11 track school records while producing four all-Americans in two years. He also oversaw the sprinters on the track, contributing to eight school records.

Ulrich earned his B.S. in business administration from CCU in 2015 and also holds an associate's degree in arts and science from Illinois Central College.
