Recruiting Areas: Houston area, Colorado (Denver, Boulder, Longmont), Wyoming

Nick Fulton was named the offensive coordinator at Colorado Mines in the winter of 2015, joining Gregg Brandon's staff as a veteran of RMAC football.

In his three seasons at Mines, Fulton has produced one of the most dynamic and productive offensive units in NCAA Division II and one of the best in all of college football. A two-time finalist for the FootballScoop.com Coordinator of the Year award in 2015 and 2016, Fulton's 2016 unit finished the season #1 in the nation in total offense and first downs and #2 in scoring, passing, and third-down conversions. Justin Dvorak led the nation in 2015 and 2016 in passing as he won the Harlon Hill Trophy in 2016, while wide receiver Brody Oliver led every level of college football with 26 touchdowns catches in 2016. Fulton has also worked with Mines' only two-time 1,000-yard rusher, Sam Seeton, who graduated second on the Mines career yardage list.

In 2017, Mines shifted to dominate the run game as all-American Cameron Mayberry rushed for more than 1,500 yards and Mines had an NCAA top-10 ranked rushing offense. The Orediggers set two of the program's three all-time best rushing performances during the season, going for 400+ yards on the ground twice.

Fulton arrived in Golden after three seasons as the offensive coordinator at Black Hills State, where he built a rapidly-improving Yellow Jackets' offense that ranked among the RMAC's top passing and pass protection units. BHSU completed the 2014 season with a school record 4,766 total yards (433.3 ypg) and quarterback Ward Anderson finished #6 in NCAA Division II for total offense (337.5 ypg). He coached six all-RMAC players at BHSU.

Fulton was previously the graduate assistant from 2010-11 at Wyoming, working with both the wide receivers and the quarterbacks. He helped the Cowboys to an 8-5 record and an appearance in the New Mexico Bowl in 2011. A native of Laramie, Wyo., Fulton returned to Wyoming after serving as an assistant coach at Doane College in Crete, Neb., since August 2006, coaching the offensive line and tight ends. He also held positions as video coordinator, interim director of football operations, head junior varsity coach and offensive coordinator for the junior varsity team. He coached nine all-conference offensive linemen.

Fulton began his coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Sioux Falls, in 2005, working primarily with the offensive line and defensive scout teams. He helped the Cougars reach the NAIA semifinals with an 11-2 record in 2005.

He completed his bachelor's degree in communications at Sioux Falls in 2003, following an outstanding college career as an offensive linemen. Fulton earned all-conference and honorable mention all-America honors, and played on three conference championship teams from 2001-03, including the NAIA National Runner-up in 2001. Both his 2002 and 2003 teams advanced to the semifinals of the national tournament, and he was voted a co-captain of the 2003 team.

Fulton and his wife, Becki, were married in December of 2014.
