2014-15: Appeared in 22 games with one start as a true freshman ... Averaged 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game ... Shot 61 percent from the floor, best among everyday players ... Scored a season-high 16 points against Colorado Christian on 8-of-10 shooting ... Also had a season-high eight boards in that game.
High School: Laine was a standout for Cloquet High School in Cloquet, Minn., and lettered three years as a prep. He was named First Team All-Lake Superior Conference on three occasions, coming during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. As a junior, he eclipsed 1,000 career points on the way to Minnesota All-Northland First Team Honors as well as All-Section 7AAA First Team distinction. As a senior, Laine set a new all-time scoring record for CHS on the way to All-Minnesota Northland First Team, All-Section 7AAA First Team and Academic All-State recognition, while also leading his team to a 25-5 record and a final eight appearance at the Minnesota State Championship. He was a four-year member of the honor roll with a 3.8 cumulative grade point average, and also spent time during his youth as an Eagle Scout with Troop 171 in Cloquet, Minn.
