Evan Knight joined the Mines wrestling coaching staff in summer 2016.
Knight was a high school standout in Iowa, winning two state titles with three finals appearances and earning multiple All-America honors, including at the NHSCA Senior Nationals, USA Cadet and Junior Freestyle Nationals, and USA Junior Folkstyle Nationals. At Cornell, Knight was part of multiple NCAA top-5 team finishes for the Big Red. Internationally, Knight was a resident athlete at the OTC in 2010-11, winning the 2011 Pan-Am Olympic Festival in Mexico City at 74kg.
Prior to joining Mines, Knight coached for Excel Wrestling in Colorado and Iowa, and worked with the Iowa Junior National Freestyle Team. He graduated from Cornell in 2014 with a B.S. in Communication, Human-Computer Interaction Design. He is joined in Colorado by his wife Katie, who teaches in the Boulder Valley School District.
