Brendan Roslund finished his second, and final, season with Mines men's soccer in 2020-21 after joining the staff in August of the 2019. He oversaw the development of the Oredigger goalkeeping corps. Under Roslund's guidance, Mines broke the single-season record for shutouts as a team with 13 in 2019. Additionally, Drew Johnson broke the individual record for shutouts in a season with 11 in 2019. Roslund was also a member of the 2019 and 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches South Central Regional Staff of the Year.

The Colorado native entered the coaching world after putting together an impressive playing career all the way from club to high school to the professional ranks. He started his career with the Colorado Rapids Academy where was named the 2009 Academy Player of the Year. During that same time, Roslund attended Denver Christian High School where he was a highly-decorated goalkeeper, helping the Crusaders win the state title as a junior in 2007. He also played for the USA U14 and U18 squads.

Roslund parlayed his prep experience into a successful collegiate career with NCAA Division I University of San Francisco. In his first season he became the first USF goalkeeper to claim All-Freshman honors (2009). In 2011, the 6-foot, 6-inch goalkeeper brought home the inaugural West Coast Conference (WCC) Goalkeeper of the Year honor as well as First-Team All-WCC distinction. Roslund’s senior campaign featured four shutouts in 18 matches and Second-Team All-WCC honors. He also served as team captain from 2010-12.

Following his career at USF, Roslund spent two seasons in the domestic Premier Development League (PDL) which is now known as USL League Two. He played for both F.C. Tucson and Ventura County Fusion and helped both clubs to second-place division finishes. The Coloradoan then traveled overseas where highlights included a trial with Everton FC of the English Premier League, the 2014 West Riding County Cup title with Eccleshill United (ninth level) and stints with Bradford City (League Two) and the Zebbug Rangers of Malta’s First Division.

As a player, Major League Soccer (MLS) scouts touted Roslund as one of the biggest goalkeepers available in the 2013 draft pool. He was also hailed as a “great shot-stopper” who “gets to many balls average goalkeepers don’t get.” Roslund will look to pass those skills and his knowledge along to Mines’ goalkeeping corps as the newest member of Mulholland’s staff.
