Kara Jones joined the Mines softball coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2019-20. A two-time all-RMAC player for the Orediggers, Jones was a four-year starter and graduated among the Mines career leaders in doubles (4th, 47) and RBI (9th, 114). As a junior she earned First-Team All-RMAC at utility hitting .388 and slugging .517; her senior season of 2019 earned her Second-Team All-RMAC honors at designated player driving in 31 RBI. Jones racked up 167 career hits in her career. Jones earned a degree in chemical and biochemical engineering.
