Alexa Rogers completed her third season as assistant cross country coach and fourth season as assistant track & field coach at Colorado School of Mines in 2015.
A native of Littleton, Rogers was a four-year member of both the cross country and track teams at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.
While donning the Black-and-Old Gold (2008-12), she was a USTFCCCA Academic All-American (2010-11), two-time cross country team MVP (2010-11), three-year Dean’s List honoree and four-year Southeastern Conference (SEC) Honor Roll member.
In 2011, Rogers led Vanderbilt to the program’s first SEC cross country championship, taking second overall in a sub-course record 20:22.72. Upon helping the squad advance to the NCAA Championships for the first time with her seventh-place effort at regionals, she paced the Commodores to sixth place out of 31 teams at the national meet, earning All-American accords with a team-high finish of 39th.
She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Development.
Rogers, a 2008 graduate of Dakota Ridge High School, served as three-time team captain and keyed the Eagle harriers to the 2007 state championship, winning the 5K individual title in a time of 18:41.
Her sister, Natosha, was the 10,000-meter NCAA champion and Olympic Trials runner-up at Texas A&M in 2012.
