Brett O'Connor joins the Oredigger women's soccer program as the goalkeeping coach ahead of the 2026 season.
A veteran with extensive collegiate, youth and junior national team experience O'Connor's previous stops included serving as the Director of Goalkeeping for Real Colorado Soccer Club and as the head girl's soccer coach at Valor Christian High School. During his time at Valor Christian, he led the program to the CHSSA Final Four in the 2025 and 2026 seasons and was named JeffCo Conference Coach of the Year in 2026. O'Connor also brings Division I experience to the Orediggers, having served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the women's soccer program at the University of Houston in 2022 and the men's goalkeeping coach at the University of Denver from 2020-21.
He has also spent time with the Colorado Storm (formerly Colorado Rapids) youth organization, Colorado United Soccer Club, Boise Nationals Soccer Club, fellow RMAC members Regis (2016-20) and Colorado Christian (2012-15) as well as Northwest Nazarene.
A former Division II athlete himself, O'Connor competed at Northwest Nazarene in the early 2000s. A standout goalkeeper for the Nighthawks, he holds the school and GNAC record for career saves (283) and at NNU is second in saves per match (7.07) and third in goalie matches played (40). His 139 saves in the 2001 season are the most in a single-season in GNAC history. In addition to his defensive prowess, he also scored two goals and registered three assists in his career.
Among his accolades, O'Connor was named Colorado Competitive Coach of the Year in 2017. He holds a Premier Diploma and an Advanced National Goalkeeper Coaching Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches and his USSF 'B' License from the United States Soccer Federation.
