Meghan Powell joined the Mines sports medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2019 and was elevated to the position of head athletic trainer in August of 2023. Powell previously had been at Fort Lewis since 2012, most recently serving as the Skyhawks' head athletic trainer. Prior to that she worked as an athletic trainer at Abilene Christian University and Westmont High School in California. Powell has a B.A. in exercise science and athletic training from Fort Lewis and a master's in athletic training from San Jose State.
