Trevor Florendo '14 was named Mines' first Strength and Conditioning Coach in August of 2016. Since then, Mines Athletics has won the RMAC All-Sports cup every year.
During his time at Mines, Trevor has built the strength & conditioning department from the ground up as the first full-time hire in school history. He also executed the origination of the Biomechanics of Athletics Performance (Bio-Performance) Lab, the first of its kind in all NCAA sports to be run strictly through Athletics. In the Bio-Performance Lab, Trevor coordinates research of athletic performance in order to maximize the potential and safety of every Mines student-athlete.
Florendo is certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, as well as a Level 1 sports performance coach through USA Weightlifting. A 2014 graduate of Mines majoring in mechanical engineering, Florendo was also a member of the football team. He is now back in school at Mines finishing his master’s degree in Biomechanics.
