Colorado School of Mines Athletics

Kat Hrisopoulos took over as the head coach of the Colorado School of Mines cheer program in the fall of 2026.

Hrisopoulos cheered at Oakland University from 2013 to 2017, serving as team captain in 2015 and 2016. During that time, she was a two-time NCA Nationals finalist, competing in the All-Girl division in 2015 and the Small Coed division in 2016. Kat also spent five years on staff with North American Spirit Cheer Camps, earning Staff MVP honors in 2015 and 2016.

Before coming to Mines, Kat coached at Rochester Adams High School in Michigan from 2018 to 2024, helping develop athletes on and off the mat.

An engineer as well as a coach, Hrispoulos fits right in at Mines. She spent eight years as a systems engineer in the automotive industry with General Motors and automotive suppliers before moving to Colorado to work as an aerospace systems engineer at BAE Systems, Space & Mission Systems.

Outside of cheer and work, Hrispoulos enjoys doing yoga and spending time with her three dogs.
