GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines announced its 2025 signing class on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day in NCAA Division II, welcoming 31 new Orediggers to the program.

The class includes 28 freshmen and three graduate transfers: defensive backs Joseph Gonzales (Yale) and Matt Soderdahl (Hillsdale) and linebacker Mercury Swaim (Saint Francis). The group represents seven different states, with 13 recruits hailing from Texas, seven from Colorado, four each from Arizona and Washington, and one each from Indiana, Minnesota, and Oregon. Defensive backs featured heavily in the class with eight additions, followed by five offensive linemen and receivers and four defensive linemen. 

The group will mesh with a roster that returns 12 starters and dozens of game-experienced players from the Orediggers' 8-3 2024 season. Mines will open spring ball next month and begin the 2025 season at West Texas A&M on Sept. 4.
