GOLDEN – Head football coach Bob Stitt of the Colorado School of Mines football team finalized his 2014 coaching staff on Monday with the addition of former Colorado State standout Jimmie Kaylor, as announced by athletic department officials.

Kaylor will handle operations, recruiting and quality control efforts for the program. He takes over the duties formerly held by Morgan Liggett, who left Mines to join the coaching staff at NCAA Division I FBS program, the University of Minnesota.

Prior to his appointment at Mines, Kaylor worked with the Colorado Ice Professional Indoor Football team in Fort Collins where he worked as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting for the squad over the past year. In that role, he was responsible for identifying, recruiting and signing players to the Ice roster.

He also currently works as a columnist for www.Football.com as an NFL columnist, focusing primarily on NFL and NFL Draft topics on the site.

A former punter for the Rams, Kaylor has worked as a Regional Associate for four years in the National Camp Series, which is a nationwide network of expert kicking coaches with NFL and College level playing experience.

Following his playing career for CSU, Kaylor signed an NFL contract with the Atlanta Falcons and spent the 2008 offseason and training camp competing for a roster spot.

His coaching career began as the Assistant Football Coach at Legacy High School in Broomfield, where he served as the program's Special Teams Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach from 2009-2011.

As a collegian at CSU, Kaylor earned a Coca-Cola Community All-American Award while also finishing his sophomore season as a First Team All-Mountain West punter. He finished his career first on CSU's all-time punting charts with a 44.0 gross average. He served as a team captain for CSU during his junior and senior seasons.

He earned his B.A. in Liberal Arts with a minor in Management from Colorado State in 2007 before earning his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Colorado, Denver in 2011.

He and his wife, Lynette, currently reside in Denver.
