THE MINES-BHSU SERIES
Mines leads the series 4-0 ... The teams first met in 2012 ... Mines won 62-22 in Spearfish as Justin Dvorak threw for 396 yards and he and Sam Seeton each ran for 2 TDs. Mines had 2 defensive TDs.

IN THE RANKINGS
Mines returned to the national rankings this week at #25 in the AFCA poll and #24 in the D2football.com poll. The news was not good in the NCAA Regional Rankings, however, as Mines fell from 5 to 8 despite beating Adams State 42-7. That leaves Mines on the outside looking in for NCAA selection; their best-case scenario is to win at Black Hills State and have Azusa Pacific beat Colorado Mesa.

WEEK 10 REWIND
Colorado School of Mines kept its RMAC title and playoff push alive, cruising past Adams State 42-7 on Senior Day. Brody Oliver set the RMAC single-season receiving touchdowns record with a pair of strikes to take him to 22, while Justin Dvorak set the RMAC passing touchdowns mark with his 43rd of the year. Dvorak had a nearly perfect game completing 27 of 33 passes for 336 yards and four touchdowns. Sam Seeton ran for 102 yards and a score, while both Oliver and Riley Hoff hit the 100-yard receiving mark. The Mines defense held ASU (1-8, 1-8 RMAC) to only the single touchdown, stopping the Grizzlies four times on fourth down and generating a season-high eight pass break-ups to go with Jimmy Bauer's interception. Jalen Champagne had three of Mines' pass break-ups.

THE RMAC RACE
One team - Colorado Mesa - has clinched their share of the RMAC title. The question on the final day of the season is if Mines and/or CSU-Pueblo will join them. Mesa is done with RMAC play at 8-2 (they play Azusa Pacific in Week 11) while Mines plays Black Hills State and Pueblo hosts Chadron State. An Oredigger win would clinch a share of the title, their first since 2014 and 21st conference title in program history.

LEADING THE WAY
Entering Week 10, Mines leads the nation in both total offense (559.1 yards per game) and passing offense (383.5 yards per game). Mines' 290 first downs are a D-II best and they are second in third-down conversions (58.4%), and fifth in scoring offense (45.4).

DVORAK, OLIVER SET RMAC TOUCHDOWN RECORDS
Last week was another record-breaking game for quarterback Justin Dvorak and tight end Brody Oliver. Dvorak broke the RMAC record for touchdown passes in a season at 43, while Oliver caught his 22nd of the year to set that conference mark.

NO ONE BETTER
Speaking of Justin Dvorak, the redshirt senior has firmly planted himself as a favorite in the Harlon Hill Trophy race with his eye-popping numbers. In 10 games, he leads NCAA Division II with 3,753 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 3,994 yards of total offense. He is the active leader in all of college football in career passing yards (12,635), touchdown passes (124), and total offense (13,660). Dvorak is already the RMAC recordholder in career touchdown throws and total offense, and is 363 yards away from setting the RMAC passing yardage mark.

OLIVER PRODUCES BIG
Brody Oliver continues to produce receiving numbers unlike any that have been seen at Mines. The redshirt sophomore has caught an RMAC-record 22 touchdowns, which leads every division of college football. Oliver is second in D-II with 1,343 yards, and he is 34 yards away from breaking the Mines single-season yardage record set in in 2004 by Jonny Chan. Oliver has caught a touchdown in every game this season and has nine 100+ yard games in 10 outings.

SEETON NEARS 1,000
Sam Seeton has a chance to do something no Oredigger has ever done - be a two-time 1,000-yard rusher. After going for 1,150 yards last year, Seeton sits at 884 yards entering Week 11, 116 away from hitting 1,000 for the second consecutive year. Mines has only seen five 1,000-yard seasons in program history.

CONNECT FOUR
It's not just Oliver's big numbers, all four of Mines' starting receivers are making major contributions on offense. Deep threat Ty Young has put together a 684-yard, 10-touchdown season that ranks among the best all-time in Mines history, while Riley Hoff has 642 yards and four scores. Zach Richter has been one of Dvorak's most reliable options in short yardage with 60 catches for 523 yards and four touchdowns. Dvorak isn't afraid to go to his running back Sam Seeton, either; he has 26 catches for 165 yards and a score.

TIMELY TAKEAWAYS
Mines' defense is now +8 on turnovers for the season. Mines is especially good in crunch time, generating eight fourth-quarter turnovers this year, including in five of the last six games.

BALL HAWKING
Speaking of turnovers, Mines has produced 15 interceptions this season, with five coming from Drew Stephon. Jimmy Bauer earned the first of his career last week against Adams State. In that game, Mines' secondary produced a season-high eight pass break-ups led by Jalen Champagne's three.

CAN'T KEEP THEM DOWN
Mines has been one of the best teams in the country this year on third down, ranking second in D-II with a 58.4 percent conversion rating. As a result, Mines is also the best first-down generating team in D-II with 290.

SCOUTING BLACK HILLS STATE
The Yellowjackets are enjoying their best season since 2007 at 7-3 overall. BHSU has been led by the ground game of Phydell Paris, who is their career rushing leader and has 1,178 yards and 12 touchdowns this year. Quarterback Ryan Hommel has thrown for 2,037 yards and 11 touchdowns but also 11 interceptions with a 49.6% completion rate. Shandon Jones is the top target with 652 yards and 4 touchdowns. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets are +14 on turnovers as they lead the nation with 25 interceptions paced by individual leader Drew Hebel, who has nine. BHSU allows 28.8 points and 423 yards per game.

LAST YEAR AT BHSU
Mines was firing on all cylinders, rolling out 587 yards of total offense and benefiting from two defensive touchdowns to rout Black Hills State on the road, 62-22, in 2015. Justin Dvorak threw for 396 yards and two touchdowns and the Mines running game accounted for five touchdowns, including two each by Dvorak and Sam Seeton and another for Devin Reaves. Mines' defense generated two scores as Shawn Kobylinski and Andrew Renfrew each returned fumbles for touchdowns.

SELECTION SUNDAY
