GOLDEN, Colo. - Second half goals from
Peyton Sanders and
Taylor McRae produced a 2-0 win for #5 Colorado School of Mines over MSU Denver.
Mines (5-0-0, 1-0-0 RMAC) dominated the game with a 20-9 shots advantage, and turned it on with sustained pressure in the second half. It was a pair of set pieces, however, that produced the Mines goals, with both coming off the boot of
Emily Garnier.
A foul at midfield led to the first, with Garnier sending the free kick into space for Sanders to easily finish at 68'. Cassi Fischer's yellow card at 78' gave Garnier another midfield free kick, and her ball to the box fell to McRae to finish.
