#22 Mines Blows By Mesa, 3-0

GOLDEN, Colo. - #22 Colorado School of Mines was virtually perfect as it held Colorado Mesa to negative hitting in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-13) win to improve to 10-0 in RMAC play.

The Orediggers (16-3) hit .395 for the match and had their best defensive match of the season, holding the Mavericks (12-6, 6-4 RMAC) to -.010 hitting with 14 blocks. It is the first time in program history that Mines has reached a 10-0 start to their RMAC schedule.

Madeline Behr was simply outstanding for Mines, hitting .571 on a match-high 13 kills and adding eight block assists to account for 17 of Mines' points. Lindsey Jin swung for 10 kills at a .444 clip, adding three aces, while Ellie Monarch had eight kills and Abby Tiesman five kills (.556) and 4.0 total blocks.

Marina Hansen put up 36 assists to go with eight digs and four block assists, and LaRose Currie led the defense with 11 digs, with Hailey Babcock getting under nine.

Mines hit .500 in each of the first two sets, having only three attack errors in that span, while the defense forced CMU into negative hitting in each of the last two sets. Mines' serving was also key, notching six aces.

The Orediggers stay at home next weekend, hosting MSU Denver in a key match Friday at 7 p.m.
