#18 Mines Routs Fort Lewis, 6-0

GOLDEN, Colo. - #18 Colorado School of Mines ended the regular season with an emphatic 6-0 win over Fort Lewis on Saturday.

The Orediggers (14-2-1/10-1-1 RMAC) will enter the RMAC Tournament as the #2 seed, hosting Western State on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal. The help Mines needed to secure a share of the regular-season title did not come as Regis beat MSU Denver, 1-0, to win the crown outright.

On Senior Day, Brooke Stoermer scored twice and Haley Cole added a goal as Theresa Osborne, Jennifer Kendall, and Audrey Shin also got on the board. Emily Garnier had a pair of assists to take her season total to 13. Mines completely dominated the game, outshooting FLC 27-1.

Osborne got Mines off and running in the 15th minute, rising up to meet Garnier's corner for her second goal of the season. Stoermer then finished Nicole LaTourette's cross with a finish to the far post at 20:59, and Cole tucked it near post from Acacia Ortiz at 28:26 to lead 3-0. Kendall made it 4-0 at the half when she put back a rebounded after a breakaway at 37:39.

Mines tacked on two more in the second half, first when Stoermer headed home a Garnier corner at 54:59, and later when Shin beat a defender and ripped a hard shot to the near post for her first career goal in the 80th minute.

Shannon Mooney had a save to record the shutout. Mines led 9-1 on corners.
