Stoermer got things going in the 28th minute, heading home
Emily Garnier's corner, and LaTourette produced a stunning goal in the 33rd minute with a 20-yard blast from the top left corner of the box that tucked in under the crossbar to make it 2-0. The sophomore struck again three minutes later, sprung on a breakaway by
Hannah Stoner's pass and beating the goalkeeper on the finish.
Two more goals came in the second half, first when Stoermer pounced on a defensive miscue and headed a chip over the goalkeeper at 58:09, and then in the 82nd minute when
Julia Hawn cleaned up a rebounded
Devon Dunmire shot to set the game at 5-0.
Garnier's assist on Stoermer's first goal was her 14th of the season, tying the Mines single-season record set by Megan Woodworth in 2011. Garnier's assist total currently leads NCAA Division II.
Shannon Mooney had two saves to record her first career postseasons shutout. WSCU combined Katie Simpson-Johnson (3 saveS) and Emilie Eckhart (4 saves).
