DENVER - Savannah Boarman's goal in the 51st minute gave UCCS a 1-0 upset win against #8 Colorado School of Mines in the RMAC Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals at Regis.
The Orediggers (15-3-1) outshot the Mountain Lions (14-4) by a 13-7 margin, but Taylor Proctor made seven saves to send UCCS to Sunday's final against CSU-Pueblo, also a 1-0 upset winner over top-seeded Regis.
Boarman headed home Tarah Patterson's corner at 50:50 to put UCCS on top.
Emily Garnier and
Nicole LaTourette each had three shots for Mines. The Orediggers came into the weekend ranked second in the NCAA regional rankings, and will still likely receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced on Monday; the CSU-Pueblo-UCCS winner will receive the RMAC's automatic berth.
Shannon Mooney made two saves for Mines. UCCS led 9-3 on corners.
