#6 Mines Improves To 6-0 Over Bethel

GOLDEN, Colo. - #6 Colorado School of Mines remained unbeaten, cruising to an 86-66 win over Bethel (Kan.) to improve to 6-0.

The Orediggers used a big run at the tail end of the first half to take control of the game, mixing up their lineup along the way and getting scoring output from 10 different players. Mason Baker poured in 17 points with seven assists, while Ben Sonnefeld also had 17 and Ben Clare had a 15-point effort. Michael Glen had eight points and eight rebounds.

Joe Rushing led the Threshers (2-8) with 14 points as Dakota Foster chipped in 20 from the bench.

Mines shot a solid 54.8 percent for the game and sank 14 three-pointers overall, including Baker's four. Tied 22-22 midway through the first half, the Orediggers embarked on an 18-2 to take control of the game, suddenly ballooning the lead to 16 and eventually heading to the lockers up 48-33 at the half. 

The Mines lead never dipped under 15 from there as the bench rotation got quality minutes in the second half. The orediggers held a marked size advantage and led 37-28 off the glass. Mines' passing was also outstanding as they assisted on 27 of 30 field goals, led by Baker (7), Glen (4), and Luke Schroepfer (4).

The Orediggers open up RMAC play next weekend, visiting Chadron State Friday night.
