GOLDEN, Colo. - #17 Colorado School of Mines hit .402 to blow past Fort Lewis 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-13) on Senior Night at Lockridge Arena.
The Orediggers (21-4, 15-1 RMAC) remain in a first-place tie with Regis thanks to the win, as they produced their best offensive showing of the year led by senior
Madeline Behr's three-set career-high of 18 kills.Â
All four of Mines' seniors turned in big numbers as
Ellie Monarch had eight kills hitting .316; Behr hit a huge .586 in her 18-kill, three-block effort;
Marina Hansen put up 47 assists with nine digs and four aces; and
LaRose Currie had a match-high 19 digs with a pair of aces.
Abby Tiesman added 13 kills hitting .500 and
Lindsey Jin had nine.
Janice Jin produced 12 digs. Fort Lewis was held to .168 hitting.
Mines went up big to start the match, leading 15-2 at the midpoint of the first and never looking back. The only close set was the second, where FLC hung around until a 4-0 Mines run made it 15-9 and the Orediggers ended on a 7-2 run to win 25-15. Nine straight serves by
Janice Jin in the third put Mines ahead 12-1 as they cruised to a 25-13 win to close it out.
With two matches remaining in the regular season, the Orediggers head across town to face Colorado Christian on Tuesday before returning home next Saturday to host Chadron State.
